Confusion seems to be
Sony's game as the media giant announces a new iteration of its gaming handheld right after the release of the
PSP 3000 just a couple of months ago. Dubbed the
PSP Go, the unit looks radically different from the tried-and-true aesthetics of the
PSP; the
PSP Go has a slightly smaller screen which slides up to reveal the hardware buttons and analog thumb stick.

The most shocking changes, though, are the elimination of the
UMD slot, replacing it with
16GB of flash memory and the announcement that old and new games will be made available on the
Playstation Network. It's still up in the air whether
Sony can pull up an
Apple and make a successful online app store, but the
$249 price of the
PSP Go sure ain't going to help. ^_^
